Cindy Bauer lives in Missouri with her husband of 42 years, 1 cat, 2 dogs and 3 barn cats. They control things Cindy doesn't like: moles, ground squirrels, and mice, so she agreed they could live there. Outside.
The couple also share their wooded 15 acres with an assortment of wildlife: turkey, deer, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, cows, horses, and the occasional bobcat. Recently added to the list of wildlife - the dreaded Mountain Lion!
If you don't mind the ticks, it's a good place to hunt & fish with an abundance of birds and a only a few poisonous snakes. Hence the barn cats. Bauer says she hasn't seen a snake since the cats moved in. But...keeps a loaded gun around just in case. Her father, a 24-year veteran of the US Navy, taught her how to handle & shoot a gun at the ripe age of 12. For years her husband would buy a gun, then sell it when she out-shot him. Tee hee....
Cindy graduated from Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1975 and married her husband in 1976. She was 19 and he was 18. He taught her how to cook and they've been happy ever since. (mostly)
She was practically born with a book in her hand and spent most of her childhood reading. Her parents thought she was an angel compared to her older siblings. That is... until she discovered boys. Tee hee....
Cindy loves to help people and is an die-hard optimistic, always looking for the silver lining and avoiding the dark clouds when possible. This has helped her in many ways, especially with the hubby.
The couple moved to Missouri when her mother became terminally ill. Then the couple helped when her father became terminally ill. Missouri has been their home for the past 30 or so years.
